accustomed

UK/əˈkʌs.təmd/US/əˈkʌs.təmd/
adjectiveC1Common in everyday speech and writing · #4,824 of 15,258neutral

Accustomed means used to something through long habit. Accustomed to the noise, grow accustomed, his accustomed chair.

It takes to, and become or grow accustomed is the usual construction. Before a noun it means usual rather than habituated: his accustomed chair is the one he always sits in, which is a slightly formal and old-fashioned use.
