airbrushed

adjectiveB2+Rare in speech; mostly a word you read · #13,172 of 15,258neutral

Airbrushed means smoothed until every flaw has vanished. An airbrushed photograph, airbrushed skin, look airbrushed.

It is now a criticism as often as a description, because the standard it sets is one nobody meets — several countries require advertisements to say when an image has been altered. The tool it names sprays paint in a fine even mist.
