An ambulance crew is the team who ride with the patient to hospital. Usually two, sometimes with a third in a car.
The roles are specific, since a paramedic can give drugs and perform advanced procedures and an emergency care assistant supports them and drives. What they do at the scene often matters more than what happens later. Response times are a political measure in Britain and a genuine matter of survival, particularly for cardiac arrest, where every minute counts.
