Armoured means protected by heavy plating. An armoured vehicle, armoured glass, armoured division.
In the military it names both the protection and the arm of service: an armoured division is one built around tanks. Armoured glass and armoured cars protect cash and people. In palaeontology it describes dinosaurs with bony plates, like the ankylosaurs. Note the spelling, armoured in Britain and armored in America; and that armour first meant the equipment rather than the plating.
