automated

UK/ˈɔːtəmeɪtɪd/US/ˈɔ.təmeɪtɪd/
adjectiveB1+Common in everyday speech and writing · #6,988 of 15,258leans written

Automated means run by self-acting machinery under its own controls, with no person needed to work it. Set it up, and it runs.

The word covers factory lines, telephone systems, tills and trading, and the difference from mechanised matters, since a mechanised process uses machines with people operating them and an automated one does not need the people. That distinction is the whole argument about jobs. The noun automation names the process, and an automated response is the message nobody wanted.
