Other forms: bartenders

A bartender is the person who mixes and serves drinks at a bar. Ask the bartender, a good bartender, tip the bartender.

This is the American word; British English says barman, barmaid or bar staff, and bartender is spreading because it says nothing about sex. The job carries a legal duty in most places to refuse service to somebody already drunk.
