bigotry

UK/ˈbɪɡ.ə.tɹi/US/ˈbɪɡ.ə.tɹi/
nounC1Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #9,651 of 15,258neutral

Bigotry is stubborn intolerance of other people's views. Religious bigotry, stamp out bigotry, sheer bigotry.

The stubbornness is what the word condemns: a bigot holds a prejudice and will not examine it, which is different from being simply wrong. The origin of the word is disputed and probably began as an insult between the French and the Normans.
