blinds

UK/blaɪndz/US/blaɪndz/
nounB1Common in everyday speech and writing · #5,697 of 15,258leans spoken

Blinds are the slatted window covering you tilt or pull down. Venetian blinds, close the blinds, roller blinds.

Venetian blinds have horizontal slats that tilt; roller blinds pull down as one sheet; vertical blinds hang in strips. They control light and privacy separately, which is what curtains cannot do. The word is plural for a single set at one window, like curtains. Note that blind here means blocking sight, from the ordinary adjective, so a blind blinds you to what is outside.
