bow tie

UK/bəʊˈtaɪ/US/ˈboʊˌtaɪ/
phraseB1Not compared — the two pools are counted one word at a time, so a phrase has no score

A bow tie is the small knot of cloth shaped like a butterfly, worn at the collar. Wear a bow tie.

A real one is tied and is never quite symmetrical, which is how you tell it from a clip. The bow tie came from Croatian soldiers, and so did the ordinary necktie.
