Caviar is salted fish eggs, eaten as a luxury. A tin of caviar, caviar and blinis, black caviar.
Strictly it is sturgeon roe only, and other fish eggs must be labelled with their fish. Wild sturgeon are critically endangered and most caviar now comes from farms. It is traditionally eaten with a bone or shell spoon, because metal is said to taint the taste.
