Other forms: celebrations

A celebration is an occasion marked with enjoyment and ceremony. A birthday celebration, cause for celebration, celebrations lasted days.

It needs a reason and it needs other people, which is what separates it from simply enjoying yourself. Every culture marks births, marriages and harvests, and the shape of the celebration says a great deal about the society. Note celebrate; and that the Latin means to frequent or honour in numbers.
