A conveyor belt is a moving loop of rubber or metal that carries things along. The baggage conveyor belt, put it on the conveyor belt, a factory conveyor belt.
At an airport it is where you wait for suitcases, and there it is often called the carousel or baggage claim. In a supermarket it is the belt at the checkout. In factories the conveyor belt made the assembly line possible, and it is the image behind the criticism that something is produced mechanically and without care: a conveyor belt of identical films. Note conveyor as the machine and convey as the verb.
