Other forms: cranberries
A cranberry is a sharp red berry served with roast turkey. Cranberry sauce, cranberry juice, a handful of cranberries.
It is harvested by flooding the field, because the fruit has air pockets and floats to the top. The name came from Low German and means crane berry, from the shape of the flower. It is one of very few fruits native to North America that are farmed commercially.
