decaf

UK/ˈdiːkæf/US/ˈdiːkæf/
nounB1+Common in everyday speech and writing · #5,407 of 15,258mostly spoken

Decaf is coffee with the stimulant taken out. A decaf please, decaf after six, switch to decaf.

It is not caffeine-free, since the process leaves a small amount, and a large decaf holds about as much as a cup of tea. The Swiss water process removes it without solvents, which is why it costs more.
