Other forms: expressions
An expression is the look on a face that shows what somebody feels. Eyebrows, mouth and eyes, all reporting at once.
The facial sense is the everyday one, so a puzzled expression and a blank expression are both standard. There is a second sense meaning a set phrase, since an idiomatic expression is a form of words with its own meaning. A third means the act of putting feeling into form, so freedom of expression is a right and artistic expression is what art is for. Maths has expressions too, meaning a written combination of symbols.
