grapes

UK/ɡɹeɪps/US/ɡɹeɪps/
nounA2+Common in everyday speech and writing · #4,159 of 15,258neutral

Grapes are small round fruits that grow in bunches; wine is made from them. A bunch of grapes, seedless grapes, pick the grapes.

Nearly all wine comes from one species, and the thousands of varieties are all forms of it. Sour grapes means dismissing what you cannot have, from Aesop's fox. They are dangerous to dogs, like raisins, and nobody knows why.
