hide and seek

US/ˌhaɪd ən ˈsik/
nounA2Not compared — the two pools are counted one word at a time, so a phrase has no score

Hide and seek is the children's game where one counts while the others vanish. Play hide and seek, a game of hide and seek, hide and seek in the garden.

Versions of it are played everywhere in the world, which is unusual for any game, and it turns up in Greek writing two thousand years ago. It teaches object permanence to very small children before it becomes a game at all.
