Horticulture is the science of growing garden plants. Study horticulture, commercial horticulture, a diploma in horticulture.

It differs from agriculture in scale and in intensity rather than in kind: horticulture is gardens, orchards and glasshouses, and agriculture is fields. The Latin means the cultivation of a garden, and it is the working word for the whole industry.
