immensity

UK/ɪˈmɛn.sɪ.ti/US/ɪˈmɛn.sɪ.ti/
nounC1Rare in speech; mostly a word you read · #14,442 of 15,258leans spoken

Immensity is vastness beyond ordinary scale. The immensity of the ocean, sheer immensity.

It is a word for scale that defeats comparison rather than merely exceeds it. Immensity is used of space, of grief and of debt, and works the same way in all three.
