Lovable means easy to love. A lovable dog, lovable rogue, thoroughly lovable.
It usually attaches to something flawed but endearing rather than something perfect, which is why lovable rogue is a fixed phrase and lovable saint is not. Applied to a person it is warm and slightly protective. Both spellings are standard, lovable and loveable, with lovable commoner in America and either accepted in Britain. Note unlovable, which is a much heavier word than its opposite is light.
