meatloaf

UK/ˈmiːt.ləʊf/US/ˈmit.loʊf/
nounB1+Common in everyday speech and writing · #5,467 of 15,258mostly spoken

Meatloaf is a baked loaf of minced meat. A slice of meatloaf, meatloaf and gravy, cold meatloaf.

It is American home cooking above all and was a Depression dish, since breadcrumbs and oats stretch a small amount of meat a long way. It is better cold in a sandwich the next day, which most people who eat it will tell you.
