move on

phraseB22 meaningsNot compared — the two pools are counted one word at a time, so a phrase has no score

To move on is to leave the past behind and continue with your life. Not forgetting — carrying on.

The emotional sense is the commonest, and telling somebody it is time to move on is either kind or brutal depending entirely on the timing. There is a plain physical sense too, since police move people on and a traveller moves on to the next place. And in a discussion, moving on to the next item is what a chairman says to end an argument nobody is going to win.
