Nondescript means so ordinary that there is nothing to describe. A nondescript building, nondescript clothes, utterly nondescript.
It is the word for what a witness cannot remember, and it is exactly what surveillance and getaway vehicles aim at. It began as a naturalist's term for a species not yet described, which is where the description comes in. Note that non- plus descript is a curious formation, since descript is not a word alone.
