nutritious

UK/njuːˈtɹɪʃəs/US/nuːˈtɹɪʃəs/
adjectiveB1+Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #8,811 of 15,258neutral

Nutritious means full of what the body needs to stay healthy. A nutritious meal, nutritious and cheap, less nutritious than it looks.

It is about content rather than calories, so a nutritious food is one dense in vitamins, minerals and protein for what it costs you in energy. Nutritious and nutritional are not the same: nutritional means to do with nutrition, without any praise in it.
