Other forms: octagons
An octagon is a flat shape with eight straight sides. A regular octagon, an octagon shape, octagon windows.
In a regular one each interior angle is 135 degrees. The shape is used for stop signs in most countries so that they can be recognised by shape alone, even from behind or covered in snow — which is a genuinely good piece of design. In mixed martial arts, the Octagon is the fighting cage. Note octagonal; and octopus and October, from the same eight.
