overpriced

adjectiveB1+Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #8,941 of 15,258leans spoken

Overpriced means costing far more than it is honestly worth. Wildly overpriced, an overpriced hotel, overpriced and poor.

It is a judgement about value rather than about the price alone: an expensive thing can be fairly priced and a cheap one overpriced. It is one of the commonest words in reviews. Note that the over- means excessively, as in overcooked and overrated.
