patriotic

UK/pæt.ɹiˈɒ.tɪk/US/peɪ.tɹiˈɑ.tɪk/
adjectiveB2Common in everyday speech and writing · #5,472 of 15,258leans written

Patriotic means showing devoted love for your own country. A patriotic duty, patriotic songs, deeply patriotic.

It is the warm word beside nationalist, and the distinction people draw is that patriotism loves your own country while nationalism dislikes everybody else's. The Greek behind it is the word for fatherland.
