Other forms: peonies
A peony is a huge many-petalled flower that flops after rain. A pink peony, peonies in June, stake the peonies.
The flowers are so heavy that rain lays them flat, which is why gardeners ring them with supports before they open. A plant will live and flower for fifty years and resents being moved.
