Premeditated means planned carefully in advance. A premeditated attack, premeditated murder, entirely premeditated.
It is a legal category as much as a description: premeditation separates the gravest offences from those committed in the moment, and proving it is often the whole contest at trial. Outside law it is used of anything calculated. Note that the word is pre- plus meditate, in the old sense of thinking over.
1adjectivepremeditatedPlanned carefully in advance.
