Prerecorded means recorded in advance rather than sent out live. A prerecorded interview, prerecorded message, prerecorded and edited.

It is why broadcasters can cut a mistake and why a programme can go out at three in the morning with everybody asleep. Prerecorded is usually announced, since audiences object to being misled about it.
