proceeds

UK/ˈpɹəʊsiːdz/US/ˈpɹoʊsidz/
nounC1Common in everyday speech and writing · #6,468 of 15,258leans written

Proceeds are the money taken from a sale or an event. The proceeds of the sale, all proceeds to charity, split the proceeds.

It is plural only and always takes the definite article or a possessive. Proceeds of crime is a defined legal term, and laws about them let a state seize money it can show came from an offence, which is often easier than proving the offence itself.
