readily

UK/ˈɹɛdɪli/US/ˈɹɛdɪli/
adverbC12 meaningsCommon in everyday speech and writing · #7,937 of 15,258leans written

Readily means quickly and without any hesitation or difficulty. Readily available, readily agreed, readily admit.

It has two jobs. With a verb of agreement it means willingly — readily agreed, readily admits — and carries no reluctance at all. With available or accessible it means easily, without trouble: readily available, readily to hand. Note ready, readiness; and that readily admit is a useful formula for conceding a point before somebody else makes it.
