rewritten

UK/ɹiːˈɹɪt.ən/US/ɹiˈɹɪt.ən/
adjectiveB2+Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #11,078 of 15,258leans written

Rewritten means written out again in a changed form. Heavily rewritten, a rewritten draft, the rules were rewritten.

It is the past participle of rewrite, and rules described as rewritten are what anybody says of a change to how something is done. In writing it is the whole craft, since almost nothing worth reading was written once.
