rhino

UK/ˈɹaɪ.nəʊ/US/ˈɹaɪ.noʊ/
nounA2+Common in everyday speech and writing · #5,834 of 15,258neutral

Other forms: rhinos

A rhino is the heavy grey animal with a great horn on its nose. A white rhino, protect the rhinos, a rhino charged.

The horn is keratin, the same material as hair and fingernails, and has no medicinal property whatever — which has not stopped poaching driving several species to the edge. The northern white rhino is down to two animals, both female.
