A rhombus is a flat shape with four equal sides and slanted corners. Draw a rhombus, a rhombus pattern, the shape is a rhombus.

All four sides are equal and the opposite angles match, which makes a square a rhombus with right angles — every square is one and most are not. A diamond in cards is a rhombus standing on a point. Note that the Greek meant a spinning top, from the shape it traces.
