rollout

nounB2+Rare in speech; mostly a word you read · #14,010 of 15,258leans written

Other forms: rollouts

A rollout is releasing something in stages across places or groups. A phased rollout, the rollout begins, delay the rollout.

Doing it in stages is deliberate: a fault found in the first region can be fixed before the rest sees it, which is why software and vaccines both go out this way. A rollout that goes to everybody at once is a decision to take the whole risk at once.
