slosh

UK/slɒʃ/US/slɑʃ/
verbC1Rare in speech; mostly a word you read · #13,777 of 15,258leans spoken

Other forms: sloshing, sloshed

To slosh is to move about noisily inside a container, as liquid does. Slosh about, water sloshing in the tank, slosh it over the side.

It also means to pour carelessly, as in slosh some more in. Half-full tanks slosh and full ones do not, which is why tankers have baffles inside to stop the load shifting on a bend.
