slow motion

UK/ˌsləʊˈməʊ.ʃən/US/ˌsləʊˈməʊ.ʃən/
nounB1Not compared — the two pools are counted one word at a time, so a phrase has no score

Slow motion is film shot fast and played back at normal speed, so everything happens slowly. More frames in, the same frames out.

That is the whole trick, since shooting at two hundred frames a second and playing at twenty-five stretches one second into eight. Sport uses it for replays and film uses it for drama. The phrase in slow motion describes any moment that seems to stretch, which is a real effect of adrenaline on how memory records time.
