Other forms: stallions
A stallion is a fully grown male horse kept for breeding. A black stallion, the stallion's line, stand at stud.
The four words divide the horse world: a stallion is an uncastrated male, a gelding a castrated one, a mare an adult female and a colt a young male. Most male horses are gelded because stallions are difficult to handle. The name comes from stall.
