Other forms: storytellers
A storyteller is somebody who tells tales aloud or writes them. A natural storyteller, the village storyteller, a fine storyteller.
The oral kind came first by tens of thousands of years, and every written literature began as somebody talking. Calling a novelist a storyteller is usually praise for pace and plot rather than for prose, and some novelists hear it as faint praise.
