telepathy

UK/tɛˈlɛp.ə.θi/US/tɛˈlɛp.ə.θi/
nounB2+Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #8,623 of 15,258neutral

Telepathy is passing thoughts without any of the senses. Believe in telepathy, test for telepathy, a kind of telepathy.

No experiment has ever demonstrated it under proper controls, and the ones claiming to have done so failed to replicate. The word is used loosely and affectionately for two people who finish each other's sentences, which is familiarity rather than anything else.
