Theology is the study of religion and belief. Study theology, a theology degree, liberation theology.

It works from inside a tradition, examining its own doctrines, where religious studies looks at religion from outside — a distinction universities take seriously. It was the foundational subject of the earliest European universities and long called the queen of the sciences. Note theologian; and that the Greek means simply talk about god.
