nounA2+Common in everyday speech and writing · #3,710 of 15,258leans spoken

Other forms: toothbrushes

A toothbrush is the small brush you clean your teeth with. A soft toothbrush, change your toothbrush, an electric toothbrush.

Soft bristles are recommended over hard, because scrubbing wears the gums back and the plaque comes off without force. Electric ones perform better in trials, mostly because they run for the full two minutes. Note that the compound is tooth plus brush.
