Other forms: truckers

A trucker is somebody who drives a lorry for a living. A long-haul trucker, truckers' hours, a trucker's cap.

It is the American word where British English says lorry driver. Hours at the wheel are capped by law and recorded, because fatigue at that weight kills — and the job is among the most dangerous in the developed world by deaths at work.
