typo

UK/ˈtaɪpəʊ/US/ˈtaɪpəʊ/
nounB1+Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #9,718 of 15,258leans spoken

Other forms: typos

A typo is a small typing mistake in a text. Spot a typo, a typo in the headline, fix the typo.

It means a slip of the fingers rather than an error of knowledge, which is the excuse the word exists to offer. A spellchecker cannot catch the worst kind, because form and from are both real words. Typos are hardest to see in your own writing.
