unharmed

adjectiveB2Common in everyday speech and writing · #6,896 of 15,258neutral

Unharmed means not hurt or damaged in any way. Found unharmed, escaped unharmed, returned unharmed.

It is the word everybody hopes to read in a news report, and found unharmed is the standard phrase after a search. It means physically unhurt and says nothing about anything else, which is a limitation the word quietly carries.
