unopposed

adjectiveB2+Rare in speech; mostly a word you read · #12,772 of 15,258mostly written

Unopposed means with nobody standing against you. Elected unopposed, an unopposed motion, returned unopposed.

In an election it means only one candidate stood, so no vote is held at all — which is common in local government and rare at national level. It is also used of an advance that meets no resistance. Note the un- prefix and oppose beneath it.
