visibility

UK/ˌvɪz.əˈbɪl.ɪ.ti/US/ˌvɪz.əˈbɪl.ɪ.ti/
nounB1+Common in everyday speech and writing · #7,708 of 15,258leans written

Visibility is how far and how clearly you can see. Poor visibility, visibility of a mile, low visibility.

In aviation and shipping it is measured and reported precisely, because it decides whether anybody may move. In business the word has been borrowed to mean knowing what is going on, as in visibility of the supply chain, which annoys purists.
