voluminous

UK/vəˈl(j)uː.mɪ.nəs/US/vəˈlu.mə.nəs/
adjectiveC1Rare in speech; mostly a word you read · #14,924 of 15,258leans written

Voluminous means very large and loose, or very long in writing. Voluminous skirts, voluminous notes, a voluminous correspondence.

Of clothing it praises the fall of fabric and of writing it hints at too much. It comes from volume, which meant a roll of parchment before it meant a book or a quantity — and the Latin volvere, to roll, is behind all three.
