wavy line

nounB1Not compared — the two pools are counted one word at a time, so a phrase has no score

A wavy line is a line that rises and falls smoothly. Draw a wavy line, a wavy line under it, wavy lines across the screen.

In old films a wavy line was the standard signal that a flashback was starting, which everybody understood without being told. On a screen it means interference, and a wavy line under text in a word processor marks a grammar doubt.
